These are very compact adaptors, which enable foreign plugs to plug into New Zealand power-points. Some adaptors are large, too large to be used conveniently in plug-boards. But these are small, as small as small NZ plugs, so they always fit nicely. (They do not, of course, convert voltage; that is not their purpose; they are only there to make a physical conversion.) These simple, compact adapters are good things to have in New Zealand nowadays, because they make instantly useful products that take 240VAC but have foreign plugs. They can be glued on with dabs of glue to make them permanent fixtures.

I used these as an emergency to convert an electric shaver from USA to AU power. A good device, but I'd recommend buying from a trusted supplier for long term use. Electronic power converters (and other cables/charging devices) are generally heavily regulated to minimise risk of fire, electric shock etc. (especially in Europe, NZ, Australia) - In Australia at least, big retailers often have these for less than $10 AU (think Kmart, Officeworks). Fine for interim use but would not recommend long term use. If you spent a large amount of money on an electronic device, plug it into something that has passed safety standard testing. Otherwise, this is a great product for cheap foreign gadgets for which you need some power in the short term.
