I built this for fun as a bit of nostalgia and it fired up immediately and worked. All the parts needed are there and I had a few screws, 1 switch, 3 LED's and a spare speaker amplifier left over for some reason. Perhaps a few spares were deliberately left over just in case. I suggest you fit the components that end up under the large STC digital controller first before fitting the 40 pin IC socket. The RF tuner being a sort of surface mount wasn't a problem soldering to the board with a small tip soldering iron and I'd advise soldering a corner pad down first to ensure you get it lined up before soldering the remainder of the pads. One other point is the LED driver chips on orientation. There was no obvious mark as which was pin 1 which I assumed correctly as it turned out goes to the square solder pad on the board as all the other pads are round. This part (2 of them) is made by Sanyo and according to the data sheet I found on-line, if you look at the single in line pins with the beveled top edge facing you, pin 1 is on the left. Note that one of the led drivers has pin 1 on the left of the PCB and the other on the right. Other than that, its very sensitive and there was no perceptible interference from two PC's I had running just a foot away, other FM radios I own have more noise.

Largo-Mike One other point to bear in mind is the electrolytic caps and the LEDs have the positive lead being the longer of the two leads and negative the shorter of the two. On the PCB silk screen components, the hashed half is negative if not clear.
