verrol unlikely unit would work on single phase motor. The internal electronics need to see resistance of all three sets of windings before unit gives an output.

verrol yes, this unit is perfect for a 2 hp motor. 2 hp =1500 w...2.2 kw gives you a nice cushion if you're drawing close to rated current on your application.
