armbruster5402 There is no periodic heartbeat. As for low battery, I have not yet needed to replace the battery in mine so I do not know. If I remember correctly it only sends one signal for water detected. So Id guess if it has a low battery alert it would just signal water detected, then it would be on you to inspect the sensor.
