If you are looking for a cheap way to play with the Pixhawk autopilot for PX4 or APM, this is good kit. You may want to upgrade a few of the components later (for reasons as I'll explain) but if you're not wanting to break the bank on your first entry into DIY droning then start here. The best component is the Neo8 GPS. It can use GPS and either GLONASS (Russian) or BaiDou (Chinese) satellites. This means you get really good accuracy and it's difficult to lose fix. I was tracking 18 satellites from my living room - you only need 4 for a 3D position! It doesn't have an external antenna connector so if you can't swap in a high-gain receiver but the increased number of satellites it can use does mitigate this greatly. However, if you wanted the absolute best results you might want to consider a different GPS that can use external antennae. The telemetry module seems to work fine with Mission Planner - I haven't tested the range. It appears to be a genuine 3DRobotics module. I went with the 915MHz version to stay legal - you need a ham radio license in Canada and the US for the 433MHz version. I'm not sure about the power but I think they are only 100mW versions. There appears to be 500mW modules available if you'd like to try to get more range. While I like the concept of a stripped down Pixhawk, this "Lite" module seems to cut corners that are a bit frustrating. The pinouts are not the same as as standard Pixhawk - the Aux headers are inverted - and they one of the ports are labelled. The headers on the back do not have the alignment notches at the bottoms so the supplied PPM cables don't fit! I carved some in so that alignment is easy - if you cut the tabs off the cables you might invert the polarity with bad results. This is the worst part, as you should not have to perform surgery on a device to make it work. Other than that, it is a good Pixhawk platform and is smaller and lighter than the original which is a concept I like. Pros: Good entry level components, everything you need in one place, rock solid GPS, no frills autopilot, genuine 3DR telemetry module Cons: Autopilot enclosure is poorly molded, not labelled and with different pinouts. Telemetry kit provided is a bit underpowered.

attention don't connect the items and power up before you tested the voltage and the right pins. in my set i just needed to connect the cable from the gps plug directly to the telemetry1/gps1 and the i2c distribution. then connect the other plugs from the gps cable to the telemetry air unit and the OSD. i made it wrong first time and tried to connect the telemetry directly to the FC and so it's damaged now. with a new one it works perfectly! look at the specific Pixhawk Lite entries on rcgroups.com that will help you very much!

The main fonctionalities of the flight controller works (OK with arduplane v5.3.3 firmware flashed, auto flight modes tested with my diy powered glider) But the main problem in my case is the poor quality of the GPS which didn't work until I re-flashed it with a FDTI/USB adapter and the ublox center software. Now the GPS works but with a very long fixing time and some signal loss during flight (so RTL, loiter etc. works sometimes but are not reliable with this GPS) Moreover the SDcard was KO and I had to change it to restore the logs and terrain capabilities. As already mentionned on reviews, you will have to change and check all the connections (some power wires were inverted in my case!) The OSD is the cheapest : CRIUS Mavlink v2.0 (I strongly recommand to buy a FTDI/USB connector to reflash it with github code :https://github.com/night-ghost/SingleSerial) The voltage/current sensor is unstable and not accurate (I use frsky telemetry instead) So, it's perhaps a better idea to buy only the flight controller and choose separately GPS, OSD etc. (but it's optionnal, you can test the flight controller on a first step with a good ESC/UBEC providing at least 5A : the power module is optional) Be aware that the little wires are very fragiles and I recommand to check it frequently and to reinforce it)

Nice kit inexpensive compared to the big kits-- missing a few less essential nonflightrelated items. Great support on RCGroups and 3DRPixhawk website for pixhawk in gener. Connect 'PowerModule' to Power Telemetry1 connects both 'GPS' and '915/443MhzTelemetryRadio' and Telemetry 2 connects to 'OnScreenDisplay module'. ( Wire is tricky as there are so many but the key is to look at the website and clues are the Red 5v and Black Ground.) Stick the included 4GB flashmemory into the slot connect using a high quality USB cable (included USB cable does not work) and use it like a Pixhawk via APM Planner application. Remember to flash the firmware to the correct Multicopter type and Propeller Direction and its great.

Polecam ten zestaw zwłaszcza z NEO-M8N. (W pomieszczeniu zamkniętym łapie 7 satelit). Wystarczy poczytać pixhawku w internecie żeby skonfigurować zestaw. Od początku nie działał multiplexer ppm. W moim przypadku nie potrzebny ponieważ mam odbiornik z SBUS. Irytujący jest brak opisu złącz na obudowie.

The Pixhawk Lite unit works well, and I plugged everything in when it arrived. Unfortunately the GPS VCC and ground wires were reversed on the 4 wire plug, so it is likely the GPS unit is fried. I corrected the order of the wires once I saw the plug diagrams, and cannot get it to recognize the GPS. I cant really comment on how well it works because I haven't flown it due to this issue. The reversed wires were mentioned in

everything works fine however you need to double check the wiring as no any dcumentation is added, so you need to find source on the internet on how to wire it up. In my case the GPS was delivered with wrong wiring, so If I would have trust and wire it without checking before, it would fire my GPS. http://static.rcgroups.net/forums/attachments/3/1/8/1/8/5/a8375964-108-PixHawk_Lite_V2_NE0_M8N_GPS_MinimOSD%20FPV.jpg

Got it a week ago , took 10 days from EU store. Nice packed in a white box withe everything needed and a lot of spare connectors (mine at least). Took me 2 days to read all the info on RC Groups and rewire all connections the right way , and avoid frying my electronics.Easy to configure via APM planner and almost plug n play. Telemetry was PnP no need to configure it just instal SILabs drivers and select the right COM port. Put it on mu 4x4 off road to test the autopilot and it works like a charm. I was able to select the points on the map and the truck pass trough all the points till the end. Good product and fast shipping , a big thanks BG.
