The caliper arrived in its plastic box which is very good for storing it. The package was received in good condition although the plastic box and thin cardboard box cover were unprotected within a plastic bag with no padding. This was a replacement item as the first one wouldn't turn off, and this one works fine. I measured a few of my drills and the caliper gave a very accurate reading as can be seen by the photo of the measurement of an 8mm drill. Having said that the fine tuning to get a final and most accurate reading is a bit hit and miss in terms of knowing when it has obtained the most accurate reading. But this isn't a problem for me in terms of woodworking as a hobby because I'm am nit picking about a couple of thousands of an inch either way to get the most accurate reading and that sort of accuracy isn't necessary to for wood working. I am an engineer and used to work to tolerances of a thousandth of an inch, but at my age even with glasses I struggle with a rule to work to one sixty fourth of an inch and I can see the reading in the caliper which is clear and large. It works in both metric and imperial and for the price is extremely good value. I could have spent five times as much to get a caliper with more stable fine tuning but don't need that sort of accuracy. So, for the price this caliper is excellent value and keeping it in it's box when not in use should give it the long term protection it needs,

Remains to be tested but what I can say is that I really like the fact that it comes with a sturdy box to keep it stored and protected. a nice plus!

It is acually a great tool. Two digits after decimal point, and it looks pretty accurate (at least for small sizes I tried ).
