As a dispenser of bright light this torch is awesome, /really/ does the biz. Bit bigger in the hand than I was expecting but thats not actually a bad thing - other than its probably not the torch to fit in a trouser pocket. A couple of downsides, though. One is the rubber cover for the charging port is round the barrel from the rubber cover for the on/off button so when you pick it up and are going by feel, maybe cos, well, it might even be /dark/ at the time, you can find yourself pressing away at the charging port cover as you try to switch it on. This is not a well thought out aspect of the torch's design. The other thing is the infuriating Chinese obsession with torches that have a flashing mode that you have to click through before you get to a bog standard torch mode is even worse here. There are TWO flashing modes you have to click through, one of them being an automatic SOS mode. I am pretty sure that almost all the customers of this phone will go through their entire lives without ever being glad they have an automatic SOS function in their torch. Instead the same majority of customers will be at least mildly annoyed they have to click through two madly flashing modes to get it to do what they actually want - shine some light on something and banish the stygian dark. Also, is that exceedingly bright and rapid flashing actually safe for epileptics? I am a wee bit concerned about that. People in that situation should maybe avoid this torch. Those are the downsides. Upsides are the main things, though. Its a powerful, sturdy torch, and I'd buy it again.

The bike came (to the UK) very quickly, just a couple of weeks from the order. It arrived a couple of days ago and the first thing I did when going through the minor initial assembly (fitting the handle bar and the front wheel) was to add a rear light to the seat pillar. That was some generic thing that uses two AA batteries, and was bought off this website for a couple of quid. I have had the M1 out for a couple of runs, including on some forest tracks, in places pretty ancient and rough, and it handled it all very well indeed. I only used level 1 power assist with a wee touch of right thumb action when starting up on slopes. And it was good to cycle with when the power was switched off as well. I found it great fun to ride, and am really enjoying it. Its very solidly built, quite heavy and needs a bit of space even when folded up. Wouldn't go into the back of my Clio without folding down the back seats, whereas a D4S goes in easy peasy with space to spare. Would be nice, though, if there was some indication of a rear rack that was compatible with it so I could stash the picnic stuff rather than have it in a bag on my back. So if anyone has found something that works please post a link. Please also note that this is my first e-bike so I am no expert on the type and my comments are those of a noob, not someone who knows all the different nuances and expectations of an e-bike, especially of ebikes that cost double or triple what this one costs. But given that warning, I can thoroughly recommend the Fiido M1.
