Lutz Well, first of all the ADF4351 is a sythesizer to just output a waveform from 35-4400 MHz. Therefore, the term "sensitivity" does not apply. The data sheet lists a value of -80dB for spurious contamination of the output signal. For sensitivity you have to look at the front end, the mixer and finally the log-detector. So, I do not understand your question.

Lutz I have used this programmer successfully on some ESP boards. The pinout on mine was marked with the silk screen.

Q: is this an amp for tx or rx?

Asked by larrykabo on 2021-05-13 10:27:51

Lutz Idon't think its meant to drive an antenna, its not a power amp. But then again, its a useful 100x wideband amp for numerous applications. You may want to consider the noise figure though which is not the greatest, but still ...

Lutz AboutCW, above statement is completely wrong! CW means "Continuous (light) Wave" hence if you apply dc current of 350 mA and have a proper heat sink to dissipate the about 0.75W, then the manufacturer spec sheet guarantees a 0.3W light output. Typically, the efficiency is about 50%. Pulse laser diodes are a completely different story, and indeed they need to be pulsed but with currents in the order of several 10 amps.

Lutz Well the "blip" is there when input frequency matches the LO because it is directly mixed and the log detector wont work at very low (or even zero) frequencies. This simple design does not really resemble a spectrum analyzer. Normally it should be mixed to a narrow band IF that is being detected. Then there would be no blip...

Q: What is polarity?

Asked by mario on 2019-08-19 10:30:11

Lutz DearMario, you find the polarity in the data sheet at: www.frlaserco.com/download/20150610160047/FARL-300M-808-TO56.pdf. The anode ( ) is the middle pin and the cathode (-) is pin 1 to the right when pin 2 (middle) is below pin 1 and 3. This seems a general use pumping laser diode. Be careful it can not tolerate reverse voltages of 2V or greater! Hope this helps Lutz
