Q: Can I operate the lamp directly at 220 volts or do I have to apply 10 volts? AC or DC?

rnitram wrong! its isnt for DC aplication !!! you can direct 10V AC use, or plug in series with right value capacitor (dependent of frequenci). Current dont reach ower 0,3A !!!

rnitram my opinion not if you mean litle 9V 200mAh battery... short runnig time - battery capacity is little
