Brightness of the LEDs vary with battery voltage and is rather low, when the 18650 are down to 3V. So, there seems to be no voltage regulator. Low voltage cut off is at ~2.2V for the 18659 batteries, which is way too low in my opinion. Most battery charges won't charge an Li-Ion battery, when discharged to such low voltages for safty reasons. I strongly recommend to use 18650 batteries with protection PCB or just use AA0 batteries! Otherwise the product seems to be good bang for the buck.
