One big flaw with other guide squares out there is they tend to use a cheap pull style latch. This introduces misalignment by pulling on a very small section of lip on the guide rail, thus warping that small section of guide rail against it's intended datum point. Using a small pull style latch clamp isn't the most accurate or elegant way to achieve square alignment and parallel between the two datum points on guide square. To my knowledge the only guide rail squares available that are addressing this issue is this WNEW precision square, the SPETOOL brand at well over twice the price (and then some) or the etsy style 3d printed speed square adaptors. Not having an unlimited budget but also wanting a dependable high quality solid and most importantly ACCURATE guide square, I decided to take a chance on the WNEW precision guide square over the competitors. After much testing, I happily found that the WNEW precision guide square definitely seems to solve the issue plaguing inferior guide squares as I now was achieving repeatably accurate 90 degree cuts even when switching between different length guide rails. The WNEW has an ingenious and simple design that uses a floating datum clamp that presses against the guide rail rather than pulling it. This increases accuracy and also gives aw firm, super solid connection between guide rail and the WNEW square. It also allows the datum connection under the rail and clamp side datum on top of the guide to pull into parallel alignment, which if your guide rail is square and guide is square will result in perfect 90 degree cuts. I tested the accuracy of the WNEW square with the dozen or so trusted squares I own and found it to be spot on 90deg even on my digital angle gauge, I concluded that It is definitely as square as I have the ability to measure or test. I recommend purchasing the WNEW precision square if cutting accurate 90 degree cuts repetitively with a simple solid, and reliable design is your main priority.
