Need 18650 batteries if don't hardwire it. Easy to set up. I had it working in about 10 minutes from opening package. App was easy to setup and self explanatory. I never even read the directions (maybe I will later to if I figured it all out). The door bell sound options are crazy. Lots of different options but most are extremely obnoxious. I have only used it a few times so I may be back to update this review. For the price, it is amazing, As good as the Ring .
