Works flawless, I can't judge on the sound taste but the quality is there, I bought this solely because my Arcam rdac dead and wanted a cheap replacement to get rid of the noise from PC, surprisingly this one does much more than I expect. Be aware that Windows 10 is limited at 384Khz, if you want anything beyond you must install the driver and use the right software to use ASIO to reach higher sound stream quality, and upscale a 44.1Khz file to 768Khz doesn't make it sounds more detailed. I recommend

I've been listening to this DAC against my old topping d10 with muse 8920 op amp. the Sanskrit mk2 compared to the topping has a little less high end sparkle up top but with a fuller smoother midsection. the bass on the smsl is smoother with slightly less thump than the topping. overall the smsl DAC is great for vocal driven music and those looking for more detailed and Smooth sound. the topping is more suited to techno/drum and bass etc with more emphasis put on highs and lows, losing some mid definition.

I first time tried DAC and I feel amazing sound. Qaulity good, sound very good, remote control a little bit confusing because you must push the "C" button to control DAC

Excellent sound for the price. Really enjoy the user selectable digital filters. I actually prefer the 7-bar display and a physical button of SMSL to the Topping E30's cheap OLED display (will burn out) and touch control (troublesome). Don't like the micro USB port as a power socket. SMSL should have made the input indicator as "USB, OPT, COA" instead of "in1, in2, in3". It's possible with 7-bar display. Would be nicer user can switch the display either the volume level or the sampling rate.

I'm not sure if it is the MKII version. I've ordered it from CZ warehouse, the shipping was fast. The sound is not bad. Compared to the DAC module in the NAD C 356BEE amplifier it's not better either. The NAD has a little more punch in the bass and it is somehow little more lifelike. The Sanskrit' sound has no specific flaws, it's just a little lifeless compared to the NAD. However I'm not sure which version is it. Because the MKII supposed to support 768kHz PCM and DSD512 with AK4493 IC. The version

This DAC has transformed my listening experience. I have an IOTAVX SA3 amp, and the internal DAC is ok, but this DAC is so much better than the internal DAC of the amp. I could immediately hear the difference. It has incredibly low distortion numbers and is dead quiet, even if it just runs on USB. You can also add an external 5V power supply via a second USB input, but I did not notice any improvement in sound. Soundstage is wide with imaging pinpointing voices and instruments well.
