I only use it for converting usb from computer to toslink for galvanic isolation between PC and DAC. Very useful, and no sound degradation.

works great and looks great. my need was very basic to use it on an old laptop as a better dac feeding to my audioengine a5 speakers and does a good job. clean audio and decent soundstage
