Good product, but cannot deliver charging current of 5A, unless there is proper heatsink on the two diodes and the two mosfets. This may also be due to RCS being bigger than 0.04Ω. In any case the existing heatsink is not correctly glued underneath the components, as it touches only partially some of the heated parts. Even worse, the metal heatsink touches the pins of some other components and there is danger of shorts and damage. Furthermore, in my unit, the dual led is soldered the other way around, and as a result, when it charges a battery, the blue led is on, and when the battery gets full, the red led comes on. Nevertheless, it is a good mppt charger. I attach the Charging Profile and its Diagram, taken from CN3722 datasheet.

This device works quite well at lower currents (< 3A). MPPT via panel voltage tracking seems to work quite well. I have mine outputting an almost consistant 10 Watts(2.8A @ 3.6v) into a 1s20p Lithium battery(nom. 3.6v, 45Ah) from a 12.5 Watt panel (21Voc, 17Vmp), so approx. 80% efficiency, even in 42 degree celcius ambient heat with panel temperature above 60 deg C !! (Australian summer). In 'cooler' summer weather (mid 20's) I get maybe an extra Watt out at mid day (~11W -ish). Although this is advertised as working up to 5A, even after extensive testing I was not able to get much above 4A with a 25Watt(measured) panel and very good heatsinking: I only get 15 Watts out (4.2A@3.6v) so efficiency at higher currents suffers badly (25W in, 15W out = ~60% efficiency) This item, as shipped, will NOT work with 1S lithium because the regulation voltage can only be adjusted down to ~6.5v, however, it is relatively easy to modify it for 1S operation. To do this, simply replace the 22k resistor (R7, marked 223, 0603 size) with something around 75k to 100k. I used an 82k resistor which alows me to adjust regulation from ~3.0v to ~9v. Note that the supplied heatsink itself is okay, but it is useless as supplied because it is mounted with a thick dob of silicone adhesive. This is because A) the current sense shunt resistor is thru-hole and protrudes, and B) the PCB tracks under it have exposed solder pads. Poor design/lack of forethought by whoever did the PCB layout!. Therefore, mounting the heatsink directly to the PCB would cause a short circuit. I have modified mine with heatsinks on the top side packages(Mosfets and Diodes), and also a heatsink with a drilled hole (to clear the shunt solder pad) un the underside using double-sided tape as insulation to avoid shorts with the board tracks. Not exactly ideal, but much better than as-supplied.

This is a buck only converter so the solar side voltage has to build up. Good product. Not really power point tracking, because the power point has to be set manually. Otherwise, good.

The board arrives in Romania from CN in about one month. The MPPT regulator with CN3722 is operating well. I recommend it as the cheapest MPPT I have found (about 9 USD); its operation is based on constant input voltage (called MPPT voltage). It can be used as it is, but I preferred to modify its heatsink because it is a risk of electrical contact, the insulation is the heatsink black paint only; I made a 3 mm hole in the ground connection under D1 and put an additional heatsink on the top of PMOS and diodes - connect them with a 3 mm screw (photo 1 and 2) - under the original heatsink I used kapton tape and thermal paste. The schematic of the board can be seen on figure 3 with the pin names taken from the CN3722 datasheet (typical circuit - photo 4). The adjustment can be done directly with the solar panel (SP) - adjust V_MPPT to the point where the LED(s) are blinking without battery connected; in this point you get 1.04V (typical) on MPPT terminal, over R5; you can adjust V_MPPT also based on the SP characteristics, to the maximum power voltage (about 15..20% less than the open-circuit voltage) using an additional source (with the current limited to less than 1A) settled to the desired voltage (adjust to get 1.04V over R5 and/or to the LED blinking point, without battery). With the battery connected you can adjust the end of charge voltage to the point where you get 2.416V (typical) to the FB pin - over R7, OR when the battery reach the end-charge voltage adjust to the point where the LEDs change the color - from blue to red (dimmed) in my case - blue is charging, red is end of charge (in my case - normally one expects red for charging...). I tested the panel with low light on a cloudy day (w/o heatsink) with a 100W 22V solar panel, I get about 20% more power compared with the MPPT of the XMUND XD-PS1 power station. I will test it also on a sunny day (with heatsink now) and I will add a comment.

order on 22 July 2023 received on 6 August 2023. But build quality needs to improve... Heatsing at the back side touching with other components, which can lead to short circuit and malfunction to the device,

Product came broken and was DOA. The coil broke during shipping as there was only a thin plastic bag and no protection. See images. I guess it is a good product when it works...

It was broken upon delivery. Poorly packed without any packing material under a heavier package (Epever mppt solar charger). So a coil had broken during an unavoidable handling of the package.
