A solid radio for any hobbyist that does not want to spend a ton of money on a handheld, this can be used when doing hardball, paintball, racing, hunting, security or what ever but know that it is not an encrypted signal so it is open for others to listen to. You do need a license to use the item where I'm from, but it is legal to listen in on others without. The product seems very sturdy, the most frustrating is that the battery is not the same as their other units. I will recommend this for first timers, and hobbyist that are interested in know how things work.
