I would say that the baofeng radios are deffinetly worth the money. I wasn't expecting such a good feeling product for this price point. The frequency range with vhf (136-174 MHz) and uhf (400-520) is quite nice. having the frequencies in between to pick up DAB radio could be interesting, althoug that would require a digtal tuner which would increase the price. The included antenna is not very good, so picking up another is a must have. I've had great results with the nagoya and the long 42" abbree. The battery is supposedly 4200 mAh which is probably true, i accedently left one on over night without being charged and the battery bar didn't go down. The battery could probably last around 2 weeks with moderate use. Programming the radios are not very intuitive, a usb cable does exist to do this which i've ordered, but yet to receive. I recived the 10w radio instead of the 8w that i ordered which is a nice suprise. Great value for money, great fun, acceptable price.
