I use three pieces to convert the old floor standing lamp. The original was using a 300 watts halogen light bulb. The light is about same as the original 300 watts bulb when I use two pieces and brighter than original when I use 3 pieces. So, I put in switches, so I can make it of using one to three pieces as required. I mount that on a 9 inches diameter 1 MM thickness aluminum sheet as heat sink, then a 40X40 MM DC fan on top to blow to the sheet as cooling. I also put three 30X30 MM DC fan on bottom of sheet to blow the bottom side of the light chip. The temperature of the light chip dropped down to about 70 degree C from a little bit higher than 100 degree C of using sheet only. The light worked about 12 hours per day for about a week already and seems still good to go. Will see. The chip is easy to mount, the only thing need to aware of is you need a higher power soldering iron to solder the AC wires to the chip because it is on AL heat sink. The chip is on aluminum Printed circuit board which dissipate a lot of heat when solder.
