Nice set of different valued resistors for hobbies. Resistor value variations are more than what it was said so not sure if these are good for professional use. Found 3 duplicate sets as well.

This set is a quick, easy and cheap way for a hobbyist to get a good coverage of resistor values. However, they are decidedly "hobbyist" quality. The leads are very thin compared to "proper" resistors, and my random sampling suggest they are far from 1% accurate - more like 2%. "Proper" 1% resistors are typically 0.2%, while I was measuring something like 2% unit to unit variation on this set. A quality manufacturer wants his guaranteed limit to be out in 3 or 4 sigma territory, because it would be far to complicated to sort out bad units. Whoever made these has little in the way of quality control. Each strip of 25 has its value written on the tape. Unfortunately the writing is sometimes illegible, so I had to resort to the multimeter many times while sorting them all into individual bags. The colour coding is quite impossible to read, but that is par for the course with blue-bodied metal film resistors. There was at least one duplicated value. I can't tell if there were any missing values - too much work to find out. Conclusion: Worth having for a hobby stock, but don't build a precision instrument with them.
