I gave up with a couple of other displays (mixing 3.3 v and 5v, 8 bit data wasting all GPIOs..., wrong libraries..). Now I have THIS ONE : 3.3 or 5 V : win ! SPI 4-wire (RST ist optional) : win ! Plug an Play ? : Adafruit ST7735 original library, use pins of any example --> Works : Fast win ! (Now I throw out all unnecessary rest...) Speed : Is o.k. (Gaming won't work with arduino anyway..) Display : Very very Bright (Full sun still o.k.), Absolutely clear, wide angle, Black is black, vivid colours : WIN ! Just : LED is very bright, you can't dim (no LED Pin..), but uses max. around 45 mA, so it's o.k for me. P.S. I did not use the SD part....

The display is in my opinion very good for the price. The only problem I had was with the pinout and how to connect it to arduino but with a bit of searching on the internet I found the solution

Awesome little screen, easy to use only downside is the LED backlight can't be changed and is quite bright. I ended up hacking the board so I can control the backlight via PWM which works well so very happy with the screen and will definitely be buying more.
