I bought a couple of these. I screwed one of them to the front of my quadcopter. to aid with orientation . CAUTION! ... if you try to run these Led's of a 3s Lipo, they will get very, very, hot. I assume that the 12 volts continuous is just too much for them. I even tried mine on a 3s LiFe battery, but they get pretty hot on this 10 volts too, though they may be ok. I wasn't game to leave them on the 10 or 12 volts for too long as I was scared of a fire. On 3s Lipo, they will draw 1.3amps, which is over 15 watts! I am running mine at the moment on a 2s 350mah lipo. The light is bright enough for about 50-70 metres, and the amp draw is negligible... does not even read on my Amp metre. Overall, a brilliant light, and great for what I am using it for, but may not be able to handle 3s Lipo for any length of time.
